In 2012, I began my journey into the realm of mental health and wellness when I was accepted into the University of Florida's Counselor Education program. The University of Florida's Department of Counselor Education has ranked among the top 10 programs nationally since 1998 when the U.S. News & World Report began ranking counseling and counseling psychology programs housed in colleges of education.
I became a Professionally Certified School Counselor in 2014, and have worked in the school setting ever since. Being part of the education system has allowed me to develop highly effective skills, and understand the unique challenges facing young people today.
After several years of experience working in the schools, I decided to pursue my mental health license in order to be the most effective counselor for the populations that I serve. Today, I am a fully Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
It is hard to believe, but my passion for counseling and wellness was born over a decade ago, when I first began volunteering at a school for at-risk children with behavioral disorders. It was at this school that I learned the power of connection, relationships, and loving empathy. I knew that I was meant to be a counselor, and here I am today living my dream of helping people achieve health and hope.
In my time away from the counseling world, I enjoy being part of small groups at church, running, triathlon, cooking, reading, yoga, and being in nature. Currently, I am training to become a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. I am also active throughout the community in different women's groups such as the Palm Beach Women's Network and working to build my own faith based group-The Wondrous Tribe.
